Legal information — Entryglide

Terms, statutory consumer rights under New Zealand law, warranty policy, returns, and dispute resolution for bespoke furniture and cabinetry made-to-order in NZ.

Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA) — Your rights

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, goods supplied to consumers in New Zealand must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match descriptions or samples provided. Entryglide recognises these statutory rights and will not contract them out for consumer purchases.

  • Acceptable quality: durability, safety and freedom from defects.
  • Fit for purpose: we will advise if a bespoke design may not meet particular uses.
  • Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.

If you purchase as a consumer, CGA remedies apply alongside any manufacturer warranty we provide.

Warranty & workmanship

Entryglide offers a standard 5-year workmanship warranty on cabinetry joinery and a 12-month warranty on hardware unless otherwise agreed in writing. Warranties cover defects in materials and craftsmanship under normal residential use.

Exclusions: damage from misuse, improper installation by third parties, normal wear and tear, deliberate damage, or alterations not authorised by Entryglide.

Returns, cancellations & custom orders

Custom and made-to-order furniture is produced to specification and therefore non-returnable except where a statutory right applies (e.g., major failure under CGA) or where we agree otherwise in writing.

For cancellations prior to manufacture, we will consider refunds less any incurred material or administration costs. Orders cannot be cancelled once fabrication has begun.

Key legal references

The CGA provides remedies for consumers when goods or services fail to meet guarantees. Remedies include repair, replacement or refund for major failures, and compensation for consequential loss.

The Fair Trading Act prohibits misleading and deceptive conduct, false representations, and unfair practices. All product descriptions and marketing by Entryglide aim to be accurate and not misleading.

To the extent permitted by law, Entryglide's liability for indirect or consequential loss is excluded. This does not affect your statutory rights under New Zealand legislation.

Dispute resolution & governing law

We aim to resolve issues informally. If you have a concern, please contact us at Entryglide@outlook.com or by phone +64217948305.

If a dispute cannot be resolved, consumers may seek remedies through the Disputes Tribunal (for claims up to the Tribunal limit) or courts as appropriate. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
